Can it still erupt?

That was the question on everyone's mind as our helicopter approached Mount Vesuvius. The answer is yes. Although it has been quiet since 1944, Vesuvius remains an active volcano and is closely monitored by scientists. It was this same volcano that buried the ancient city of Pompeii nearly two thousand years ago.

Very cool to hike a volcano with my two friends, Summer Breeze and Cindy. The views were unforgettable, but the company made the adventure even better.
