King Maker, Unicorn Rider 🦄
Up before dawn.
Shell polished.
Learning to ride.
“Ready, Humpty Dumpty?”
“Ready — let’s roll.”
Morning PT
Keeps the shell strong,
Keeps the faith steady.
Running, bobbling,
He laughs at himself,
Rolling into the sunrise.
Three princesses walk the path.
They stop, whisper, giggle:
“My, my — look at his shell shine!”
Humpty grins,
Tips his head,
Keeps rolling.
He’s seen the Wastelands,
Knows how easy it is to slip and fall.
So he prays before the day begins —
“Guide me right, Lord.”
The green meadow opens wide.
Soft wind. Open sky.
Heaven opens up —
A white horse appears.
Holy oil pours down,
Light crowning his shell.
Humpty remembers a commercial he saw once —
A Kool-Aid commercial, flashing past as he rolled —
And whispers, smiling,
“Oh, yeah — please, open wide.”
The Unicorn steps forward,
Silent, sure.
It bows once:
“You are my rider.
Faithful and true.”
Humpty stands whole.
Eyes lifted.
Heart full.
Ready to roll.
Ready to ride.
