Ancient Days: Eocene The Eagle Flew Out Into The Night

The Eagle 🦅

An eagle stands upon his post, firm,

watching with eyes that pierce the sky,

surveying his realm

over emerald waters of the bay.

His home crowns the Atlantic seaboard,

where myths and legends stir

in the deep chasms of Poseidon's realm.

Life is abundant here;

the hunt for fish and crabs

fills his days

as stingrays

and ocean-faring turtles

glide with effortless grace.

Majestic and unwavering,

the eagle whispers of vigilance,

of provision,

of God’s care

woven into the pulse of life.

From the Ancient of Days,

from the Eocene,

gentle waves ripple

across emerald waters,

whispering secrets of wonder

in mist before time,

as the eagle,

crowned in twilight glory,

flew out into the night. 🦅

And the English language, whose guidance opened the gateway to worlds of imagination, discipline, and wonder.

Married for 25 years, I share the good life with two dogs (Isabella and Juliet) and one cat named Maddie. In my free time, I enjoy writing, biking, gospel music, and spending time with my pastor and friends.
