Monster Large Mouth
THE MONSTER BASS CHRONICLES
AUTHOR’S NOTE
“This is not merely a fisherman’s tale. It is a story of wonder, patience, and the sacred dance between human curiosity and the mysteries of nature. From the sun-swept hills of northern Baltimore County to the shimmering waters of Loch Raven Reservoir, every shadow, every tug, every fleeting ripple carries meaning.
The Monster Largemouth Bass is as much a creature of legend as it is a test of heart, faith, and nerve. Medi, my loyal companion, reminds me that even in moments of solitude, we are never truly alone.
Crafted with deliberate artistry, this poem stands as a work worthy of academic study — a blend of surrealism, authenticity, and natural mystique. It is a gift to the reader.
May it inspire awe, reflection, and the quiet grace found in the thin places where water meets sky, and imagination casts deeper than any line.”
THE MONSTER BASS CHRONICLES
Small Pool
“Oh my God — there’s a Monster Bass.”
(Note: Largemouth Bass of this magnitude are not ‘fish.’
They are roaming aquatic monsters — swallowing the small to become the massive.)
Ambush every prey swept downstream.
Gotta grow to be a Monster.

Hilltop
Deep.
Really deep.
But do I see the bottom in its emerald-clear green?
So beautiful.
What happens if I drop my line?
Jig falling…
Water shifting…
Two massive Monster Bass rise from below.
One strikes instantly — violent, fearless.
Water spirals into swirling patterns around the aquatic beast.
Always hungry.
No hesitation.
Perfect predator.
The other Bass freezes, stunned in disbelief
As the explosive battle erupts beside it.

Huge.
Something very big…
Crazy strong —
Took my rod clean out of my hands.
I jumped in — got it back —
(Not my finest moment.)
Then the Monster snapped the line like dental floss
And vanished into the marine blue shadow.
