Lights Turned On: Terrapin Station by the Shore
The path I walk
smells of pine—
a sweetness of the wild,
with notes divine.
The path I’m on,
lined with signs of love
and forget-me-nots,
carries me home
to my God.
From the East,
the winds of change and hope
comfort me...
My eyes look up
to the black of night,
Yet I see the constant Northern Star,
the brightest light that shines.
And there,
upon the golden shore,
I see my Savior—
waiting.
He says to me,
“Well done,
my little turtle—
faithful and slow—
forever mine.”
