Fairies Take Flight
And love is the stardust.
For the worn thin who still believe in wonder.
Three sugar plum fairies woke with stardust eyes,
Their smiles and giggles bright in the morning breeze.
They sought the worn thin and weary,
Beneath the days they glided through,
For quiet glimmers, rare and true,
To mend their dreams and make them new.
With playful smiles, their whispers brush,
And butterflies flutter, light and fair,
While in the rugged distance, woodpeckers tap-tap
In the woodland air.
“More stardust,” they sang,
Their voices soft with longing,
Spreading hope, they flew like hummingbirds,
Whizzing by—
Above, an eagle rode the air,
Seeking more stardust skyward.
As the day wanes, fireflies glow,
Then stars above begin to show,
And stardust settles, soft and deep,
Where quiet hearts find rest in sleep.
