Old Balance / New Balance ⚖️ Reflections on Rhythm, Restoration, and God’s Design

Life can tip us off balance—stress, sleepless nights, the world pressing in.

Take a moment to pray,

step into the quiet,

and let God’s rhythm bring peace and restoration.

🐢

Once, the balance was ink and candlelight—

Shakespeare beneath sleepless eyes,

pages turned by hand, not by swipe.

College itself was a mountain to climb—

hours into the night, memorizing King Lear, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Richard III,

the quiet hum of effort and focus,

pushing mind and body toward balance under stress.

One world held sway, the other followed,

a seesaw of power and time.

Now we race through screens and noise,

our meters lost to modern measure,

stress tipping our bodies and minds

from the homeostasis we were meant to know.

The world outside adds weight—

homelessness, mental strain, behavioral turbulence—

yet the soul still seeks rhythm,

a circadian tide of rest and renewal,

a new balance aligned with God’s grand design.

Between King Lear’s grief and Netflix streams,

between revolution’s swing and dawn’s calm,

we find our place again,

restored, renewed,

alive in the quiet cycle He built for us.

But is it because what truly matters—

what should matter in life—

is to pick up the Holy Cross?

To see stripped down,

peeled back from all the chaos?

For God is pure, righteous, and strong,

and He has the power to heal the brokenhearted.

And if everything else fails,

go to the Lord in prayer.

Don’t run away—run to Him.

Whether thirty or forty-five seconds,

pray for health, peace, guidance,

and the grace to take life one day at a time.

Then come to the Green Meadow,

where the air is calm, the light steady,

and the rhythm of life reminds you

that God’s design restores even the weary soul.

All things have a season,

and in His restorative rhythm,

we find balance, peace, and renewal.

Epigraph

Crafted in hours and quiet effort,

tempered by struggle and reflection,

rooted in rhythm, balance, and prayer—

all of it offered in love,

for the restoration of body, mind, and soul.
