Part 2: Reflections in the Wilderness

Out there, you can see the grandest views, feel alive, and be one with Mother Nature. A black bear glimpsed in the distance. A moose standing majestic and still. An opossum mother slowly walking along a dirt road with babies clinging to her back.

The aurora paints the sky. The northern lights dance across the horizon. The air is fresh, organic—leaf, moss, water. You breathe deeply, and it’s life-giving. The Canadian wilderness feels guarded by ancient custodians of the land, epochs of history, generations of stewardship.

The cold sharpens your vision in ways you can’t explain. It’s extreme, yes, but it makes you appreciate the warmer months even more—spring and summer feel like a new start, awakening every sense.

Scott L.

Born Blessed in South Korea in 1969 and raised in Baltimore, I’ve built a career with 20 years in customer service and 10 years in behavioral health. The crowning jewel of my studies came when I earned the only passing grade of an A from a Harvard professor — a true master of the craft of Shakespeare

And the English language, whose guidance opened the gateway to worlds of imagination, discipline, and wonder.

Married for 25 years, I share the good life with two dogs (Isabella and Juliet) and one cat named Maddie. In my free time, I enjoy writing, biking, gospel music, and spending time with my pastor and friends.
