🌊 WHEN THE WATER RISES

A Testimony of God’s

Saving Grace

There comes a point in life when things begin to feel like water rising.

At first, nothing.

A pressure you almost ignore.

But before that… there was ease and summer breeze.

You are swimming freely—

laughter in the air, dragonflies hovering at the water’s edge, a few resting still in the reeds.

A slight taste of salt on your lips.

Nothing suggesting what was coming next.

Then something shifts.

Stress. Fear. Uncertainty.

Questions of health. Questions of stability.

And the tide begins to rise.

You are still in the water…

but something has changed.

Not all at once.

Not violently.

But steadily.

As if the current has turned—

and you are no longer moving through the water…

it is moving you.

And the current overtakes you—pulling you deeper, beneath the reeds, where you no longer choose the direction.

You are inside it now.

No way back.

Panic sets in.

Where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD,

who made heaven and earth.

The group leader saw me struggling

and pulled me back to shore.

Hope is not lost.

It is not the end.

And He was with me.

Immanuel—God with us.
