The Warning 🐺🍎

There were four little pigs.
Most people remember only three.
There was a reason for that.
The fourth little pig had wandered away from his brothers in search of something to eat.
Along the path, he found a warning.
He also found an apple.
Unfortunately, he was much more interested in the apple.

Piggy ran.
The wolf ran faster.
There had been four little pigs.
Now there were three.
And somewhere farther down the road, three brothers were about to build themselves some houses.

The Deal 🐷🤝🐺
The wolf moved closer.
The fourth little pig knew he couldn't outrun him.
So he tried something else.
“Wait! I’ll make you a deal.”
The wolf stopped.
“I know where there are more pigs.”
The wolf smiled.
And just like that, the fourth little pig lived.
He showed the wolf where his brothers had gone.
Then he did what any respectable little traitor would do.
He caught up with them.
The fourth little pig said nothin’.
Apparently, nobody had asked where he’d been either.

The Houses Were Ready 🏠🐷🐺
The three brothers had finished their houses.
One of straw.
One of sticks.
And one of bricks.
They settled in, proud of what they had built.
But somewhere down the road, the wolf was coming.

The First House 🐺🌾🏠
The wolf went first to the house of straw.
He knocked on the door.
“Little pig, little pig, let me come in!”
“No, no, by the hair of my chinny chin chin!”
The wolf stepped back.
“Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!”
And he did.
The little house of straw never stood a chance.
But the little pig did.
He ran straight for his brother’s house of sticks.
And the wolf followed.
The Second House 🐺🪵🏠
The first little pig reached his brother’s house of sticks.
The wolf wasn't far behind.
He knocked on the door.
“Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!”
“No, no, by the hair of our chinny chin chins!”
“Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!”
And he did.
The house of sticks came tumbling down.
The two little pigs ran as fast as they could.
There was only one place left to go.
The house of bricks.
The Third House 🐺🧱🏠
The two little pigs reached their brother’s house of bricks.
They hurried inside and shut the door.
Before long, the wolf arrived.
He knocked.
“Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!”
“No, no, by the hair of our chinny chin chins!”
“Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!”
The wolf huffed.
He puffed.
And he huffed and puffed again.
But the house of bricks did not move.
Not one brick.
For the first time, the wolf had a problem.

The Wolf Had an Idea 🐺💡
The wolf stopped huffing.
He stopped puffing.
The brick house wasn't going anywhere.
Then he looked up.
There was a chimney.
The wolf smiled.
If he couldn't go through the walls...
he would go through the roof.

The Chimney 🐺🧱🔥
The wolf climbed onto the roof while the three little pigs watched nervously from the window.
The fourth little pig, meanwhile, was doing what pigs do—raiding the kitchen. Obviously, he had thrown caution to the wind again, but still, he got lucky and found a red apple.
As he took a bite, he heard scratching above him. He stopped chewing and looked up.
The wolf was coming down the chimney.
Suddenly, the fourth little pig froze. It all came rushing back—the warning, the chase, and the deal he had made to save himself.
What had he done?
The wolf was here because of him.
He had to do something, and he had to do it now.
Still clutching his half-eaten apple, the fourth little pig bolted outside and looked up at the roof.
After years of looking and searching for something to eat, he had developed quite an eye. He knew exactly where to throw.
And he could not miss.
After all, he had to make it up to his brothers.
He took aim and threw.
WHACK!
The apple struck the wolf squarely on the head and knocked him off the roof.
The wolf scrambled to his feet and ran for the woods with a knot on his head, howling all the way.
By then, he had only one regret: not eating the fourth little pig when he had the chance.
The fourth little pig shouted, “Whee! Whee!” as he watched the wolf disappear, then went looking for his apple for another squeal.

A Note on the Original Tale
The Three Little Pigs is a traditional English fairy tale passed down through generations.
One of its best-known early published versions appeared in English Fairy Tales, collected and retold by folklorist Joseph Jacobs in 1890.
Four Little Pigs is an original American adaptation inspired by that traditional tale—with one additional pig, one ignored warning, and an irresistible apple.
